The River Tay is one of Scotlands 'Classic' rivers that can be paddled throughout the year and Distant Horizons offer a 5 day open canoe expedition from Killin to Perth during the month of September. This 75km river descent is a wonderful experience and what better way to sample the beauty that Scotland has to offer than from your open canoe!
Distant Horizons have many years of experience in organising and running multi-day expeditions and river trips are one of their specialities. During this trip you will learn a vast range of open canoe skills on both flat and moving water.You will also learn a range of expeditioning skills, shelter and bivvy contruction, bushcraft s tips and skills, outdoor cooking on open fires and many more.... Who is this trip for? This trip is aimed at people who have an adventurous spirit and don't mind getting wet, sleeping outside and sharing tasks with other people. Learning new skills does feature highly on this river expedition. If you are an individual, couple of small group of friends looking to meet others and share an amazing outddoor experience then this trip is for you.
Experience Required? You will be someone who has paddled an open canoe before and have some experience on moving water. You will be confident with water and have a good level of fitness.
