Lakes Self-Guide Canoe/Kayak Weekend
Distant Horizons have created a unique self guide paddle and camp weekend where you can use either our superb single sea kayaks,tandem sea kayaks or open canoes on Ullswater, the second largest lake in England. All camping equipment is provided also which allows you to just head off with some friends, family or colleagues to explore the outdoors at your own pace?We provide detailed route maps showing you all of the best places to visit on Ullswater.
An introductory session is delivered by a qualified instructor before you venture out onto the lake giving you the necessary skills to handle your boats and have the knowledge of how to deal with a variety of conditions. If you have a group who have never paddled before we can offer a package where one of our instructors will look after you for half a day and then leave you to it once they feel you are sufficiently skilled to continue without their assisitance.
Our paddle and camp package includes:
- Train station collection & drop off service (Penrith to Ullswater) where required
- 2 nights camping on lake edge sites including all camping equipment(apart from sleeping bag)
- A canoe or kayak training session on Ullswater
- All canoe/kayak equipment including boats, paddles, buoyancy aid, spraydecks
- Drybags for all of your equipment
- Wetsuits, drytops/bottoms and neoprene boots
- Laminated maps of the lake
The above package price is £150 + vat per person (minimum 2 people). We offer discounts for groups of 4 people or more.
