Mountain Navigation Courses
Confidence in your navigational ability allows you to progress into some of the more serene and untouched locations. Navigational ability is essential for complete piece of mind when entering the great outdoors and will help you move safely, efficiently and comfortably from one point to another. Navigation is fun and relatively easy to learn. With structured training from one of our mountain instructors whilst in a mountain environment you will quickly learn a series of techniques allowing you to find your way around the mountains in a variety of weather conditions and gaining confidence each step of the way.
All of our courses are run in and around the Ullswater valley where we are based. The area offers a wide variety of terrain which is perfectly suited to navigation training and you may find yourself on Gowbarrow one day and then on Helvellyn or High Street the next! We have excellent indoor facilities at our company headquarters located in Watermillock where we can introduce you to some basic navigation theory before venturing out into the great outdoors and doing it for real!
We provide maps and compasses for everyone on our courses. If you are a beginner or someone who is just a little rusty then we offer a number of courses throughout the year that would be perfect for your needs. Our aim is to enable you to learn navigational skills at your pace and to enjoy the entire process developing confidence and ultimately for you then to venture out on your own and navigate safely.
