Distant Horizons are uniquely positioned to offer and deliver a range of courses and technical training in a wide range of disciplines including rock and winter climbing, open canoeing and sea kayaking, caving and SRT skills, dry tooling, Via Ferrata techniques, aid climbing and big wall techniques, crevasse rescue skills and many more. Being located next to Ullswater in the Lake District and with having a purpose built climbing and training centre at our headquarters we have a great combination of both outdoor and indoor venues and facilities to run courses and training.

In addition to this we can offer small groups Ullswater self catering accommodation at our Lakeland Lodge that comfortably sleeps 6 people.

Whether you are a beginner looking to learn some new skills in a specific discipline or someone looking to progress to becoming qualified as a Mountain Leader, Single Pitch Award holder, MIA, Cave Leader or watersport instructor then we can offer you the necessary skills training and coaching to assist you reaching your goal. We can provide 1:1 coaching if required or you could join one of our courses on a specific advertised date. Our instructional staff are experts in their field who are highly experienced, qualified and possess the knowledge to coach and instruct to the highest level using the latest industry standards and techniques.

In addition all of our staff have exceptional soft skills and these are used to great affect to maximise your ability to learn in a structured and enjoyable manner. We provide all equipment and necessary clothing for all activities and training sessions that we offer and as we invest heavily in the latest and best equipment you are guaranteed to sample only the best there is to offer.
