The Distant Horizons Luxury Lakeland Lodge offers simple but comfortable and modern accommodation which is available as part of our event and activity packages, or independently during the winter. Distant Horizons is based at an old farm that has been beautifully restored and an idyllic location to be accommodated while participating on your chosen challenge or activity event.
Due to the long days and intensity of our challenges we do advise groups to stay the evenings before and after, and as all of our events start and finish at the farm we are able to do all the running around for you while you just focus on your challenge. A pre-event briefing the evening before can be held at the lodge with all participants receiving their personal equipment for the event, ensuring everyone is fully prepared for the following morning.
At the end unwind barefoot on the under floor heating and enjoy a celebratory drink under the outside canopy, taking in your peaceful surroundings at Leeming Farm. All our events include transport therefore your vehicles can remain parked up throughout until it is time to leave after a successful challenge, we can even provide transport in the evenings to shuttle you to and from the nearby villages if you wish to sample the local food and hospitality.
The lodge is for sole group occupancy, sleeping 12 people, and includes:
Breakfast hampers providing locally sourced food are also available to order -
The lodge has been built with sustainability in mind and the heating and water are powered by an air source heat pump. The electricity used to power the heat pump is offset by 3 large solar panels placed in the canopy roof. These elements allow the lodge to be virtually independent for energy use, and support our environmental policy to function as a business in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner.
