Our self-catering Lake District Lodge offers simple but comfortable and modern group accommodation which is available as part of our activities and event packages. Distant Horizons is based at an old farm in the Ullswater valley which has been beautifully restored and an idyllic accommodation venue while participating on your chosen Lake District challenge event or activities package.
At the end of an active day in the Lake District unwind and enjoy under floor heating, or relax under the canopy taking in your peaceful surroundings. If you wish to sample the local food and hospitality we offer group transport in the evenings to shuttle you to and from nearby villages around Ullswater.
Our self-catering accommodation is for sole group occupancy, sleeping 12 people, and includes:
Breakfast hampers and evening meals (freshly cooked for re-heating) offering locally sourced food are also available to order when booking your accommodation. To view the choice of evening meals please see the menu, and breakfast hampers start at £3.25pp to include continental and/or cooked breakfast ingredients. Please contact us for further details.
Our self-catering lodge has been built with sustainability in mind and the heating and water are powered by an air source heat pump. The electricity used to power the heat pump is offset by 3 large solar panels placed in the canopy roof (the sun does shine in the Lake District). These elements allow our group accommodation to be virtually independent for energy use, and support our environmental policy to function as a business in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner.
