Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

A fantastic alternative to the National 3 Peaks, the famous Yorkshire 3 Peaks offers a far more cost effective challenge and one that is completed in a 12 hour timeframe as opposed to the grueling 24 hour endurance event that is the National 3 Peaks.

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks is a continuous walking journey through amazing scenery taking in the 3 highest peaks which is achievable by anyone with a good level of fitness and free from any injuries.  This is also the perfect challenge for those that have never participated in a walking challenge event before.

The route:

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge starts and finishes in the lovely village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale with Pen-y-ghent being the first peak.  Continuing across to the peak of Whernside past the famous Ribblehead viaduct you with then cross a valley towards the last summit called Ingleborough.  Clocking in at the well-known Pen-y-ghent cafe at the start of the challenge and again on your return in less than 12 hours will confirm your achievement and success.
