Rainy Days

The clue is in the name so yes, the ‘Lake District’ does experience rainy days, but that does not mean you have to stay cooped up in your home or accommodation.  Rainy days in the Lake District just encourage you to think outside the box and we are here to help.

Outdoor activities for a rainy day

If you still want to get into the outdoors don’t let the rainy days stop you.  Ghyll scrambling and canyoning (or gorge walking ) are the perfect activities for a wet day in the Lake District as you get wet anyways climbing up waterfalls and jumping into pools.  Perfect.

Indoor activities

However, if you do fancy some indoor rainy days activities our centre has enough to keep you occupied.  You can still feel the rush of fresh air as the barn has large double doors which allow you to take in the stunning view from our Lake District estate, but remain perfectly dry at the same time.  Take you pick from:

Or mix them all up for you preferred combination.

Equipment and clothing

We provide all technical equipment on our Lake District activities, including water proofs, so if your day starts with wall to wall sunshine before the liquid sort shines through and catches you out, we can kit you up to make sure the rain doesn’t spoil your day.  You’ll be enjoying yourself so much on our activities anyway that you won’t even notice the rain.

"We had an amazing day climbing with the kids - well up for a summer trip.  Thank you for sharing your perfect location and great facilities."
