Ullswater Ultra

Hike, mountain scramble, paddle, abseil, cliff jump, swim all within the Lake District's Ullswater valley and all in one day.  This compact Lake District challenge event certainly packs a punch when it comes to variety, and it is a real test of endurance as you are on the go throughout with only brief stops between each discipline.

THE ROUTE:

Total Distance: 26.5 km    Duration: 9-11 Hours

  • Starting at Patterdale hike up Helvellyn, one of England's highest peaks, ascending via the stunning ridge line scramble on Striding Edge, and descending by the equally stunning and airy Swirral Edge.  Ascent - 823m, distance - 13.5km
  • Just before finishing the hike test your head for heights as you abseil down a mountain side crag
  • Swap your walking boots for a seat in a sea kayak or canoe and start out on a 13km multi-adventure journey on Ullswater
  • Towards the end of the lake journey stop on the Ullswater shore line to do a cliff jump and then swim back to your boat before completing the journey to the finish point
