Our raft building sessions can run for groups of up to 24 people and our sessions mainly take place on Ullswater in the Lake District. However, we also provide sessions on Derwent Water, Windermere and Coniston Water.
Raft building is a great fun for all ages and abilities. Everyone can be involved in designing and building before testing your craft on the water, and where best to explore with your made raft than on the many lakes in the Lake District. Sessions can range from straight forward design, build and paddle, to more complex scenarios including journeys and island visits to undertake other activities. Raft building is great for:
All technical equipment & clothing to include waterproofs, buoyancy aids and helmets, and a photo memoir of your session. Once you're kitted up you’ll get all of the rafting equipment and then it’s up to you what you build and how you build it. Can you design a sink proof raft, or will those swimming lessons come to good use.
Raft building can be part of a multi-activity day so if you would like to try some other activities as part of one big Lake District adventure, or spread out several sessions over a week, check out our full range of activities.
"Enjoyable, friendly atmosphere. Instructors were supportive, approachable and good fun, whilst also seeking to improve our knowledge and give us a positive experience. At no point did we feel unsafe, even though some members of our group cannot swim – all credit to the instructors."
