The Lake District 3 Peaks is one of the top mountain walking challenges in the UK, and involves summiting England's 3 highest mountains - Skiddaw, Helvellyn, and Scafell Pike all exceeding 3000 feet in height and all handily in Cumbria.
The Lake District 3 Peaks in one day is a feat in it's self but what if you've done several walking challenges already, you may well be looking for a more extreme version to test your legs and mental stamina on. This is where the 79km 24 hour continuous walking route may be just what you're looking for.
Start at Keswick’s Moot Hall and then head along Derwent Water and Borrowdale on your way to the first peak - Scafell. Then descend into Langdale, heading towards Grasmere before scaling Helvellyn. On completing Helvellyn the route takes you past Keswick and up onto the final peak of Skiddaw. Descend Skiddaw and back into Keswick to the finish point at the Moot Hall.
During the entire challenge you are fully supported by highly qualified mountain guides who will not only take care of all route finding but also all aspects of mountain safety. Our staff are highly experienced in running challenge events and have extensive knowledge of the Lake District so you are in very good hands whilst enjoying the stunning scenery that the Lake District has to offer.
Lake District 3 Peaks (The Original) - This is the traditional version of the Lake District 3 Peak Challenge and involves ascending the 3 mountain peaks in one day with road transportation in between each leg with a target time of your choice. You can find more details on this option in our 'First Challenge' section. This is an ideal option for those wishing to take it steady.
Lake District 3 Peaks with Bikes - An alternative to the original Lake District 3 Peaks but including bikes. Ascend each of the 3 peaks and bike in between with a target of completing the challenge within 16 hours. A great way to add a different dimension to this popular challenge event. More information on our biking orientated Lake District 3 Peaks can be found in our 'Super Tough' challenge event section.
Lake District 3 Peaks in 36 hours - This challenge is at a similar level to the Lake District 3 Peaks with bikes but is a walking only version of the challenge by summiting all 3 mountain peaks and walking in between over 2 days with one night of camping en-route. More information on our 36 hour Lake District 3 Peaks can be found in our 'Super Tough' challenge event section.
