Option 1: Start above the village of Dockray at High Row in the Ullswater valley. Follow an old coach road to the foot of the first mountain peak Clough Head where the challenge event really begins. This event option includes a descent of Swirral Edge to Catstye Cam and then an ascent of the classic scramble on Striding Edge to the summit of Helvellyn. Finish at the White Lion Pub in Patterdale.
Option 2: Walk the full mountain ridge avoiding Swirral/Striding Edge and Catstye Cam but including St Sunday Crag before descending into Patterdale.
Due to the lengthy duration of the event we advise people to stay in the local area the night before and after, and for those looking for a self-catering option we have our own lodge available for private hire. Our Lakeland Lodge provides basic but comfortable communal accommodation for up to 12 people. For groups interested in alternative accommodation we can source a variety of options.
