Richard set off late Saturday from John O'Groats and arrived at the Cairngorm Ski car park on schedule - despite having cycled into a 28/30 mph head wind all the way - and handed over to John to do his run over Cairngorm - again in a very strong wind. We all then met him in Glen Feshie by which time in the valley bottom the sun had come out and the wind had dropped. We then retired back to the B&B in Aviemore and for Richard and John a well earned drink or two!
On Monday the weather was not much better as Richard set off for Fort William but again pretty much on schedule when he handed over to John who then set off up the Ben in rain. It was again windy and on the top he encountered hail and snow! Richard then set off to cycle to Loch Awe and we all met up that evening in a very luxurious B&B!
Come Tuesday the wind and rain were still there as Joanne and I set off on our kayak of Loch Awe. Pretty choppy in places but flat calm in others. We actually came in under estimated time which pleased us - must say though have never been so pleased to see John & Richard at the end of the Loch! But that was the end of another day and Richard then set off cycling to Dumbarton.
So John & I are at home - washing and drying out gear - Richard is cycling from Dumbarton to Skiddaw and the Lake District 3000 take place tomorrow as well as the start of the Windermere swim.
