When the longer nights creep in it is the perfect time of the year to get out into the uplands of the Lake District and develop your mountain navigation skills. The short days mean an Alpine start doesn’t drag you out of bed too early and getting back just in time for tea means you can hone your night navigation skills as you descend in the dark.
Distant Horizons provide navigation training and courses in the Lake District for all abilities whether you are an absolute beginner or are planning to venture out into the snow and want to improve your winter navigation skills. We run bespoke navigation courses meaning that the training is tailored exactly to your needs.
We have all the technical equipment so if you are just starting out we provide maps, compasses and outdoor clothing including water proofs and boots. For more technical winter navigation training we also have crampons and ice axes plus off road vehicles to help deal with the Lake District roads in winter, meaning there is no excuse to not get out for some navigation training.
For more details on our Lake District navigation training and courses click here to go to our websites Technical Courses section where you will find details on what a navigation course with Distant Horizons will cover.
“Now that we’re both home again Jackie and I just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you for the navigation training last week – we both thoroughly enjoyed it and got a lot out of the two days, a really worthwhile couple of days… and the best of the Lake District weather!”
