Distant Horizons are based in the Ullswater valley in the Lake District and run a host of family outdoor and indoor activities over school half terms and summer holidays, including Ghyll scrambling, kayaking, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, crate stack and archery. Our canoe and kayak tours take place on Ullswater and can be combined with various adventurous activities along the lake shore to create a multi-activity session. Options to choose from include abseiling, cliff jumping and rock climbing. We do half to full day tours and can include a picnic or BBQ on a beach.
When the weather is being temperamental or cold during your holiday we have a fantastic indoor activity centre with climbing, abseiling, crate stack, aerial tight rope walking and archery to name a few. These activities are great for families and groups of friends and aren't affected by the unpredictable Lake District weather. Our indoor activity centre is based on a private estate in Watermillock by Ullswater and has ample parking and facilities whether you want just an hour or multiple hours to try out as many of our indoor activities as possible. Our indoor activity sessions are completely flexible regarding the activities you want to try; book an instructor for your chosen length of time and try out as little or as many activities as you wish.
We provide all technical equipment and clothing and also transport to venues for the outdoor adventures, or we can even meet you there if that makes it easier for your family. Click on the links below to check out the options:Tweet
