New for 2010
Distant Horizons will be launching some new 'adventure' products to their existing portfolio of outdoor activity adventures during 2011. With extensive experience of designing, managing and running adventure challenges over many years Distant Horizons are ready to embark on extending their services and products to the Adventure Racing Market. Initially the Adventure Races that are to be offered will be within the Lake District National Park and involve outdoor activities including fell running, orienteering, mountain biking, open water swimming, canoeing, kayaking, abseiling, ascending ropes using cammed ascenders, lakeside cliff jumps, raft building, problem solving tasks and many more. Distant Horizons are taking a fresh approach to this market and offering events on a much smaller scale with fewer participants than some current events. Our aim is to minimise the impact on any given area. In addition Distant Horizons are able to provide an all-inclusive service for any given event as they already have a vast amount of equipment that enables participants to simply pay a fee which includes all of the necessary technical equipment.
Distant Horizons will be running during the winter months a series of training sessions aimed at adventure race competitors to develop their skills in some key areas such as navigation, mountain bike skills, tandem sea kayak skills, rope skills (ascent and descent) swimming and running techniques. Keep watching for further updates.Tweet
