Need inspiration for a corporate challenge event?

Find out what we get up to on one of our corporate events to see if it could be for you

We work alongside Samworth Brothers to create a corporate event which runs every other year in aid of raising money for charity, and is challenging and inspiring for the teams who sign up.  The very first Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge held in 2007 was a huge success, exceeding all hopes and expectations to raise a staggering £260,000 which benefited many charities.  The event has become so successful that it is now split over 2 weekends to comfortably accommodate the 400 places available, and has raised to date £1.5 million.  The charity challenge event is the perfect vehicle to inspire and bring together their employees, customers and suppliers, with the aim of getting as much out of it for the charities supported, as each individual gets on a personal level.

The routes

Each year multiple routes of varying challenge levels are designed which require teams to collect points as they navigate their way round on foot, by canoe and on bike. To keep things fresh the venue alters each year, utilising the UK’s National Parks, and there are always some optional exhilarating activities which give participants the opportunity to gain more points; past optional extras have included abseils, dives, archery and assault courses to name a few.  The challenge routes remain a closely guarded secret until the day of the event, however, the teams can be certain that whichever route they travel on it will take them through spectacular scenery and remote terrain.  Get a better feel by viewing the challenge video.

Ability requirements

Each discipline has an allotted time, with severe penalty points given for lateness, so speed is of the essence.  However, although a physical event a lot of emphasis is put on navigation and strategy to offer an inclusive challenge for mixed abilities; each section is mapped with more control points than are physically possible to reach in the allotted time, it is therefore down to the teams to design a route and create a plan which offers them an opportunity to accrue the most points.

Finalè

The event wouldn’t be complete without an after party and so after a hard day of running, cycling and paddling the team’s get rewarded with food, drink, entertainment, and prizes for the teams that have worked particularly hard.
