Tucked in the scenic Lake District in the heart of Ullswater, Distant Horizons have been helping people to push themselves and achieve amazing things for over 20 years. Our challenge events have been enjoyed by everyone, from seasoned adrenaline junkies to people looking to give themselves a challenge to overcome. The feeling of achievement from completing an adventure challenge is amazing, and many people come back to us regularly to push themselves even further.
With more and more companies, groups of friends and individuals looking for new and inspiring ways to raise money for charity, the team at Distant Horizons have seen an increase in demand for our charity challenges. These charity challenges are organised for large corporate groups and hundreds of participants, and in the past we’ve organised more than 700 people taking part in the Cumbrian Challenge for Walking with the Wounded. Whether you want to complete one of our adventure challenges for charity, or you want something a little more bespoke, the team at Distant Horizons will help you to organise a rewarding charity challenge for your cause.

Why choose a charity challenge for your fundraising?

Compared to many other forms of fundraising, charity challenges tend to bring in significantly more money and attract more people to take part and engage with your cause. We have years of experience in helping groups and companies to organise successful charity challenges and understand the unique challenges of holding events with hundreds of participants.
We’ll work with you to design a charity challenge that’s achievable for your group’s ability and meets your budget, giving you any advice you need to make the most of your charity challenge.
