New Indoor Training Centre for 2010

Our brand new purpose built training centre at Watermillock, Ullswater in the Lake District is now comple which allows Distant Horizons to offer a multitude of courses and training sessions to our clients. Having our own purpose built training facility more importantly gives us the ability to run sessions all year round and during periods of inclement weather which can often be the situation in the Lake District.

Rock climbing and abseiling on real rock in the Lake District is great especially when the weather is nice but can you imagine trying to climb on cold, wet rock when you have booked a course and you have travelled a considerable distance? It doesn't bear thinking about but this is very much the case as no one can guarantee perfect weather.

With our indoor facility we can guarantee climbing and abseiling whatever the weather any time of year At Distant Horizons we are offering a range of climbing sessions and skills courses 12 months of the year for complete beginners, families, small to large groups (4 - 20 people) and exisiting climbers who require training and coaching in a specific technical area. We are offering the following sessions from summer 2010:

Beginners climbing and abseiling session

Learn all the basics under full instruction Min 4 people. 3 hours £30 per person

Family climbing and abseiling session

2 adults and up to 4 children. 2 hour session. All equipment and full instruction/supervision Total Price £85

Group climbing and abseiling fun session

All equipment, instruction and supervision. 2 hour session 4 - 8 people £25pp 9 -12 people £20pp 13 - 20 people £15pp

We include all equipment for all of our sessions including Scarpa and La Sportiva rock climbing shoes, Petzl Corax Harnesses, Petzl Elios Helmets, chalk bags and chalk balls. All of our equipment is new for 2010 and only used in our training centre.

We have enough equipment to kit out large groups with clients never having to share items. All of our staff are highly experienced and have the appropriate qualification to run the specific activities.
