Mera Peak is an exciting, scenically stunning mountain, that provides a superb challenge for the very fit, keen hillwalker. Mera is technically very easy but with it being Nepal's highest trekking peak at 6476m/21,246ft it is physically demanding and testing and a high degree of motivation is required to succeed on this peak. With our 18 day trek we are effectively maximizing your chances of summit success with the excellent acclimatization programme we undertake with you. We strongly suggest if you are intending to book on a Mera trip that you are prepared to undertake an extensive fitness training programme beforehand which will only contribute hugely to your physical comfort level, health and safety and ultimately summit success.

Our approach route is initially by Namche Bazaar and Thame before returning to Lukla and then crossing the Tuli Kharka 4300m and into the Hinku valley towards Mera. Many of our approach days are only short walks so we make the most of the time and undertake numerous little acclimatization sorties, each preparing you for the final summit day. Once we are close to the snow line we undertake extensive glacier training which is good fun and essential skills for the time we actually ascend the heavily glaciated approaches to the summit.
