Equipment Hire in Nepal

If you are going to Nepal and the Khumbu region to ascend one of the many amazing trekking peaks such as Mera, Island, Lobuche or Pokalde you will require a number of items of climbing equipment including ice axe, crampons, harness and a helmet.

Distant Horizons now offer all of these items and more for hire at really competitive prices. We have an equipment store conveniently located in Ghat Village at the International Khumbu Cafe and Guest House owned and run by Kami and Pasang Sherpa. Kami works for Distant Horizons on a regular basis providing his guiding services on many of our expeditions. Kami manages and hires our equipment to trekkers and climbers on our behalf.

We offer the following items for hire in Nepal:

• Hi-Mountain Tents (with snow valances) at $2.00 per day
• Self inflating sleeping mats at $1.00 per day
• Petzl Snowalker 60cm Ice Axes at $1.00 per day
• Petzl Vasak crampons (fit all B1/B2 boots) at $1.00 per day
• Petzl Elios Helmets at $1.00 per day
• Petzl Pandion Harnesses at $1.00 per day

All equipment was new in October 2009 and is in exceptional condition. Full payment for all items is required at times of booking and a refundable security deposit will be taken on collection.
